Coastal Villages

The beautiful surrounding towns of Ballina, Lennox Head and Byron Bay are all a short drive away. Browse weekend markets, grab coffee at a range of great cafes, enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants or check out the boutique shops just to name a few. Flat Rock Tent Park is centrally located with easy access to these coastal villages for everything you need. 

Beaches

Angels Beach, Flat Rock and the surrounding beaches are great for swimming, surfing and bodyboarding. There’s a wave for every level from beginners to seasoned surfers. Our coastline has some of the most beautiful beaches for everyone to enjoy.

Lake Ainsworth 

This unique tea tree lake with natural healing properties is only 10 minutes away and well worth a visit. It’s perfect for paddleboarding and kayaking with calm water and a beautiful setting.

Fishing

There’s no lack of great fishing spots to cast a line. Fish directly at Flat Rock Beach, try your luck in the river, hit the surrounding beaches or explore the headlands. You’ll find plenty of spots.

Walking and Cycling

Stunning coastal walking tracks connect Flat Rock to Sharpes Beach and Angels Beach with breathtaking views. Cycling paths wind between Flat Rock, Ballina and Lennox Head which are perfect for a leisurely ride. 

Marine Life 

See majestic whales pass through from May to November during their migration. Dolphins are regular visitors and love playing in the surf off the headland.

Scenic Lookouts 

The area has stunning coastal viewing spots including Pat Morton Lookout and Ballina Head Lookout. These lookouts offer sweeping coastal views and are at their best at sunrise and sunset. Perfect for photos or just taking it all in. 

Picnic and BBQ 

Enjoy a beachside barbecue or spread out a picnic blanket at one of the coastal spots nearby.

Everything You Need to know for a Comfortable Stay

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 12.00pm and check-out is by 10.00am. We do offer late checkout up to 3pm (at Manager’s discretion) Late checkout fees do apply. The office is open daily from 8am – 6pm (closed 3-4pm).

Clean toilet and shower blocks with hot water, disabled facilities and a separate baby bathroom. Outdoor kitchen with tables, chairs, BBQs and sinks. The kitchen also includes microwave, toaster and kettle.

One vehicle per site is allowed. All other vehicles must be parked outside of the Park.

No, all sites at Flat Rock Tent Park are unpowered.

There are a number of designated bbq areas where fires are permitted. Braziers are available for hire, or you can bring your own. All fires must be off the ground.

Yes, camper trailers are permitted. Caravans, hybrids, motorhomes and large campervans cannot be accommodated.

Wi-Fi is not available. Mobile reception varies by provider and may be limited in some areas of the park.
